PRACTICUM ON THE TOPIC "COMMITMENTS OF THE "SOCIAL ASSISTANCE" DIRECTORATES IN IMPLEMENTING THE PERSONAL ASSISTANCE MECHANISM"

Today, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy held a practicum on the topic "Commitments
of the Social Assistance Directorates when implementing the personal assistance
mechanism". 15 employees in management and expert positions from the Social Assistance
Agency took part in it.
During the workshop, the participants discussed one of the following topics: "The Law on
Persons with Disabilities and the Law on Personal Assistance through the lens of the UN
Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities", "Preparation of an individual
assessment of needs, according to the Methodology and issuing a referral for inclusion in
the personal assistance mechanism", "Role and functions of municipalities in the context of
the Personal Assistance Act", as well as "Coordination and interaction between the Social
Assistance Directorates and municipalities in the work on the personal assistance
mechanism".
Ms. Tsvetomira Popova, chief expert in the Department "Integration of People with
Disabilities", Main Directorate "Social Assistance" in the Center of the ASP, was invited as a
lecturer at the seminar.
