From today, 27^th of May, 2011 CHRDRI launched a two-day training on "European and national dimensions of demographic policy and equal opportunities”. During the first day main discussion topic will be the demographic challenges that have to be solved by the European Union member states, strategies and common action plans. Participants in the training are twenty representatives of almost all state institutions at the Council of Ministers - participants in the Inter-Ministerial Committee on demographic issues, established under the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. Participants expressed strong interest in learning more about new tendencies and EU policies currently implemented in other EU states. Representatives of international organizations based in Bulgaria, such as  UNICEF and UNDP also expressed their interest on trainings’ topics. Lecturer of the course is Mrs. Voinova, who is also Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee. The second day will be considered as exchanging of information about long-term national programs and strategies related with problems identified following the last census in the country i.e. the progressive aging of the Bulgarian population.
