Care for people with disabilities

Today CHRDRI launched seminar on "Current Aspects in Implementation of the Policy for Integration of People with Disabilities. Socio-economic Protection of Persons with Permanent Disabilities". It is organized in conjunction with the changes improving the regulatory framework for provision of financial support to provide real opportunities for independent living of persons / children with disabilities. The training is in line with the policy to improve the socio-economic protection in the context of intensive processes in the European Union.

For participation are invited social workers from the Child Protection Directorate and staff of the Social Assistance Agency Regional Directorates "Social Assistance" engaged in the integration of people with disabilities and social workers who carry out government policy related to the integration of people with disabilities.

The objectives of the seminar are related to increasing the awareness of current trends in policy for people with disabilities in the context of the requirements of global and European law - Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The knowledge on the application of regulations in social assistance in working with people with disabilities will be enhanced and adequate opportunities for individual assessment and providing socio-economic protection of people with disabilities will be acquired.

The focus of the content is designed to achieve a high level of training and professionalism of social workers in applying the policy of the Republic of Bulgaria for the integration of people with disabilities and the legislation in social support on the issue. There will be defined and systematized the guidelines in the work of the social worker in communication with the people in need of care and provisions of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and its implementation.

The seminar is based on interactive forms of training. For full control of the information in the methodological plan is ensured a variety of multimedia presentations, discussions, debates, group work.

Upon successful completion trainees will receive certificates.
